What is a Firewall?
A firewall is like a suit of armor for your website and server. Firewalls can protect you from hacks and injections by looking for different patterns and blocking them. Generally, when a server firewall detects a bot or someone doing something suspicious, it will alert an administrator to take a look and make a decision about what to do with the perpetrator. CYber SYtes uses a combination of server firewalls and automated DNS firewalls. The DNS firewall does much the same thing as the server firewall, except it is automated and it takes place before the intruder ever reaches your website.
Does the Firewall Cost Anything?
The firewalls that come with CYber SYtes’ managed hosting plans are included at no additional charge. There are additional services that can be added to the DNS firewall for a fee — load balancing, for instance –, though most clients find the free version to be more than sufficient.
